Long-term Projects

St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague took around 600 year to build. The current cathedral is the third building at the site, the first one being founded by Wenceslaus I, Duke of Bohemian. People working in the cathedral knew that they wouldn't see its completion in their lifespan.

Long-term projects are not so common these days. People have a hard time thinking even about projects that span ten years. What are we missing?
