One positive, unintentional thing about Elon Musk’s intent to rebuild Twitter by first demolishing everything and being the star of his own media show is that, for the first time in a very long time, people seem to realize that there are alternatives to Twitter.
The internet’s town square should never have been one specific website with its own specific rules and incentives. It should have been, and should be, the web itself.
If you don’t have one, it’s a great time to start a blog. You can write about whatever you are interested in. Let’s shift the conversation from closed social networks to the open web again.
