The Benefits of Gratitude

There are two essential components to gratitude: a) recognizing that something positive has happened to us, and b) recognizing that there is an external source for this positive outcome.

Articles about gratitude usually fall into one of two buckets:

  • Recognizing that we have things to be grateful for. This practice can improve our general well-being and also specific areas of our lives.

  • Recognizing others for their help. Gratitude, in this case, serves the purpose of strengthening our relationships with those we rely on.

In either case, we should not wait for a special occasion to exercise gratitude. This short video from Tremendo.us explains the benefits of recognizing every day the things we should be grateful for.
